Following questions, there is an opportunity for statements.
These can be either Business Statements - which indicate
any time limitations on the day's debates - or Ministerial
Statements.
Ministerial Statements are usually made in the Commons
first, and then repeated as soon as possible on the same
day in the Lords, but only if considered sufficiently important.
Brief comments and questions from the Opposition benches,
and from backbenchers, are allowed.
